I started using these during a period when I was completely overwhelmed by everyday noise—clattering dishes, echoing office chatter, sudden loud traffic. Before I tried earplugs, I honestly thought I’d just have to grit my teeth and live with the sensory overload.

These have been a huge relief. They don’t make things totally silent (which I actually don’t want), but they take the edge off and make environments feel much more manageable. I can still hear people talking to me, but the volume is turned down just enough that my brain doesn’t feel like it’s short-circuiting.

I keep a pair in my bag all the time and use them in cafes, on public transport, or when I’m working somewhere noisy. They’re comfortable enough to wear for hours, and they don’t look like big foam earplugs, so I don’t feel self-conscious using them. If you’re sensitive to sound or just need help turning the world’s volume down a notch, these are worth trying.
